Montreat College soccer match postponed due to lightning

A men's soccer match between Montreat College and Spartanburg Methodist College was postponed due to lightning on Saturday afternoon.

At the time of the delay, Spartanburg Methodist held a 3-1 lead in the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) matchup. The contest had reached the 53:18 mark of play. Montreat had previously taken an early 1-0 lead following a goal by Ricardas Milasius, but the Pioneers responded with three unanswered goals before the weather intervention.

An official date and time for the resumption of the match have not yet been announced. The game is scheduled to pick up from the point where play was interrupted.
