Montse Tomé appointed as Pachuca Femenil head coach
Montse Tomé has reached an agreement to become the new head coach of Pachuca Femenil in Mexico. The former Spanish national team manager will succeed Óscar Torres, who departed the club following a difficult start to the Apertura 2026 tournament.
Tomé arrives with a high-profile international pedigree, having led the Spanish women’s national team from 2023 to 2025. During her tenure, she won the 2023-24 UEFA Women’s Nations League and led the team to the runners-up position in the Euro 2025. This move marks her first experience coaching a professional club outside of Spain.
The appointment comes at a critical time for Pachuca, which has suffered four consecutive defeats and currently sits five points away from the Liguilla qualification spots in Group B. Her contract is expected to cover the remainder of the Apertura 2026 and the Clausura 2027 seasons.
