The Province of Monza and Brianza held the 2026 Beato Talamoni Prize ceremony, the region's highest honor, to recognize thirteen individuals and organizations for their contributions to social work, research, culture, sport, and civil life. The event coincided with the centenary of the death of Luigi Talamoni, the patron of the province.
Among the six primary merits awarded were:
- Paolo Mocarelli: A physician and researcher recognized for preserving blood samples following the 1976 Icmesa disaster in Seveso, which enabled international studies on environmental contamination. - Mimì Aminata Caruso: A singer from Usmate Velate who performed the Italian national anthem at the Milano Cortina Paralympics opening ceremony. - Michele Sangineto: A master cabinetmaker and luthier recognized for his fifty years of work in reconstructing ancient musical instruments and his long tenure as a teacher in Monza.
