Montenegrin footballers show strong form ahead of Nations League
Montenegrin footballer Vasilije Adžić is experiencing a significant surge in form ahead of the UEFA Nations League. Playing for Sassuolo in Serie A, the 20-year-old has scored in three consecutive league matches, including a late free-kick goal against Monza that brought Sassuolo to a 2-1 defeat.
Adžić’s recent performances, which include goals against Juventus and Bologna, have drawn attention from Juventus. Sassuolo manager Alberto Aquilani noted that while Adžić is a starter, his impact as a substitute has been vital to the team.
In addition to his club success, other Montenegrin players are showing strong form in European leagues. Aleksa Maraš has scored six goals in the Slovak Niké Liga for Košice, tying for the top scorer position, while Stevan Jovetić was named player of the match in a Cypriot league derby for AEL Limasol.
The Montenegro national team, led by coach Mirko Vučinić, is beginning preparations for the Nations League, with matches scheduled against Cyprus, Armenia, and Latvia starting September 25.
