San Carlo Acutis commemorated on 20th anniversary of death

Events and commemorations are underway to mark the 20th anniversary of the death of San Carlo Acutis, the first millennial saint canonized by Pope Leo XIV in September 2025.

In Assisi, where the saint is buried, a special Mass presided over by Cardinal Luis Antonio Gokim Tagle will be broadcast live on Canale 5 and via streaming. The city is hosting four days of events to honor his memory. In Milan, the Diocese is organizing prayer sessions and the ‘Santi con Carlo’ initiative for youth. Additionally, a new inter-parish oratory in Abbasanta will be named in his honor.

Media coverage has been significant, following the high viewership of the TV film ‘Il mio nome è Carlo’. A new official documentary, ‘Carlo Acutis. The Millennial Saint’, is scheduled for theatrical release from October 15 to 21. Urban projects also honor his legacy, such as a new public square dedicated to him in Monza.
