India GDP growth forecast raised to 7% by Moody’s

Moody’s has raised its real GDP growth forecast for India for fiscal 2026-27 to 7% from a previous 6%, citing the country's economic resilience despite geopolitical tensions in the Middle East. The upgrade follows strong performance in the April-June quarter, where India recorded 7.8% growth driven by investment, manufacturing, and services. While Moody’s expects India to outpace other G20 economies, it warned of risks including elevated energy prices and potential food inflation linked to El Niño.

In other economic news, Fitch Ratings affirmed Morocco’s sovereign rating at BB+ with a stable outlook, noting a solid macroeconomic framework despite an expected fiscal deficit of 4% of GDP in 2026. Meanwhile, Scope Ratings downgraded France’s debt rating from AA- to A+, citing persistent budgetary deterioration and a difficult political landscape following the 2024 dissolution of the National Assembly.
