Mookuthi Amman 2 set for Diwali release following teaser debut

The makers of the upcoming film ‘Mookuthi Amman 2’, starring Nayanthara and directed by Sundar C, have announced a Diwali release date of November 6. The announcement coincided with the release of a teaser titled ‘Rise of Mahasakthi’.

The teaser suggests a grand production featuring period elements that connect a mythological past involving invaders with a present-day calamity where people invoke the deity Mahasakthi. The film is produced by Ishari K Ganesh under the Vels Film International banner, with music composed by Hiphop Thamizha.

Initial reactions to the teaser have been mixed. While the visuals are noted as being high-quality, some viewers have expressed concerns that the film’s tone differs significantly from the original hit, with some comparing its aesthetic to a high-budget serial. The film is expected to face a box office clash during the Diwali weekend against Suriya’s ‘Scene’.
