Mooleulooloo and Strathearn sheep stations lease winner selected

A successful bidder has been selected to lease the Mooleulooloo and Strathearn sheep stations, located approximately 50km west of Broken Hill. The 88,500-hectare property attracted significant interest from across Australia, including inquiries from Queensland, New South Wales, South Australia, and southern Victoria.

Subject to Ministerial consent, the lease is scheduled to commence on January 1. The initial term is set for five years, with an option to renew for an additional five years. The stations have an approved stocking rate of 12,000 DSE, with Merino sheep identified as the preferred breed for the area.

The lease encompasses extensive infrastructure, including a homestead, sheds, yards, fencing, water systems, large dams, and solar pumps. While the lease covers the Crown Pastoral Leases, the existing sheep flock and equipment may be available through separate negotiations with the new lessee.
