Moomin brand expands in Japan with new Fukuoka shop and Kobe exhibition

The Moomin brand is expanding its presence in Japan with new retail and cultural events. A new official Moomin Shop is scheduled to open on October 28, 2026, at Canal City OPA in Fukuoka. This marks the brand's first arrival in the Kyushu region and serves as the sixth official shop in Japan.

The Fukuoka location will feature approximately 1,300 items, including kitchenware, interior goods, fashion, and cosmetics. Exclusive products such as Fukuoka-only tote bags and pouches will be available, alongside special opening campaigns and limited-edition gift wrapping.

In Kobe, the “Tove and Moomin Exhibition” at the Kobe City Museum, starting October 10, will be accompanied by themed culinary collaborations. Eight local cafes and restaurants in the Sannomiya and Motomachi areas, including several Tooth Tooth establishments, will offer Nordic-inspired food and drinks. A gourmet map will be distributed to facilitate mutual discounts between participating eateries and the museum exhibition.
