Moomin collaborates with Japanese brands New Era and Kitamura on new apparel lines

The Finnish‑origin Moomin characters are partnering with Japanese retailers for two separate product launches. New Era will release a range of caps, clothing, accessories and a sauna hat featuring designs of Moomin‑Turnip, Little My, Snufkin and others. The collection becomes available on Moomin Day, 9 August 2026, at New Era stores, the brand’s online shop and other authorised retailers across Japan, with golf items slated for early September.

Separately, the original bag brand Kitamura in Yokohama will introduce a black leather handbag that reproduces the bag carried by Moomin‑Mama in the original stories. The limited‑edition bag, priced at ¥58,000, will be sold from 5 August 2026 through Kitamura’s flagship store, its online shop and the MOOMIN SHOP on Rakuten. Both collaborations reference the work of Tove Jansson, who created the Moomin series in 1945, and aim to bring the beloved characters to Japanese fashion consumers.
