Moon Lau discusses leaving TVB following realization on work-life balance

Actress Moon Lau revealed that a conversation with co-star Moses Chan prompted her decision to step back from intensive acting work at TVB. During a discussion about dining, Chan expressed confusion over the concept of a “buffet,” noting that his years of continuous filming had left him disconnected from the outside world.

Lau stated that this realization made her fear becoming similarly detached from reality. To maintain a connection to life and avoid burnout, she began prioritizing a balanced schedule, often turning down projects to ensure she had time to experience the world.

Lau, who has been living a more relaxed lifestyle alongside her husband, Ekin Cheng, has spent significant time in Japan. The couple is known for prioritizing personal interests and travel over constant professional pursuits. Lau recently returned to the spotlight for a film project featuring co-star Nick Cheung, marking her first major appearance in 26 years.
