Moon lunar cycle progresses toward Full Moon on August 28

The Moon is progressing through its lunar cycle, moving from the First Quarter phase toward a Full Moon. On August 20, the Moon reached its First Quarter phase with approximately 52% of its surface illuminated. By August 21, it transitioned into the Waxing Gibbous phase, with 61% of its surface visible.

According to NASA, the next Full Moon is scheduled for August 28. Observers using binoculars or telescopes may be able to view various lunar features, including the Mares Crisium, Serenitatis, and Fecunditatis, as well as Apollo landing sites.
