Mooncake brands launch innovative Mid-Autumn Festival collections

Food brands are introducing diverse mooncake offerings for the Mid-Autumn Festival, blending traditional craftsmanship with modern innovation and technology.

Shin Yeh Group has partnered with LA ONE to launch the ‘Autumn Treasure Moon’ collection. This collaboration features a mix of Taiwanese traditions and French baking techniques, including a limited-edition pine nut toffee mung bean paste mooncake. The gift boxes utilize a 3D flocking printing process to create tactile textures of rabbits and clouds, while adhering to ESG principles through reduced plastic and recyclable materials.

In Hong Kong, Maxim's Cakes continues to utilize automated production lines alongside manual craftsmanship to maintain quality. The brand employs smart machinery for tasks like egg paste scanning and metal detection, while workers focus on hand-selecting salted egg yolks and hand-rolling limited edition products. New flavor profiles include spicy beef and XO sauce pork, alongside classic lava custard mooncakes. The brand is also celebrating its 70th anniversary with themed gift boxes inspired by local Hong Kong culture.
