Moonlight client causes system audio failure on Linux Mint

Users of the Moonlight client on Linux Mint have reported a critical issue where connecting to a Sunshine server causes all system audio to fail. The problem has been documented on a Dell XPS 9315 running Intel Alder Lake hardware.

When the connection is established, audio ceases to function not only within the remote session but also for native system sounds, web browsers, and media players on the host Linux Mint system. The issue persists even after exiting the Moonlight session, as the Moonlight and bwrap processes may remain running in the background. Terminating these specific processes manually has been noted to restore system audio.

Moonlight can be installed on Linux via Flatpak, which is the recommended method for managed updates, or as a portable AppImage.
