MoonPay expands US crypto payments with Discover card integration

MoonPay has added support for the Discover Network to its US cryptocurrency payment platform, joining Visa and Mastercard as the third major card network accepted for buying and selling digital assets. The integration allows eligible Discover cardholders to trade thousands of tokens, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, BNB, XRP, Solana, TRON, Hyperliquid and Zcash, through more than 500 supported wallets, exchanges and Web3 applications.

MoonPay said the move is part of a broader strategy to reduce checkout friction by letting consumers use familiar payment methods. Vice President of Banking and Payments Partnerships Richard Harrison noted that each new option "reduces barriers that prevent consumers from completing cryptocurrency purchases." Discover’s Vice President of Strategic Client Management Claudia Schaefer added that the partnership aims to give users greater flexibility while providing businesses with secure, seamless transaction experiences. The platform also continues to support Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, Venmo, bank transfers and other regional payment systems.
