MoonPay integrates Kamino lending into AI PayBox

MoonPay has integrated the Solana lending protocol Kamino into its PayBox product, enabling users to engage in decentralized finance (DeFi) through conversational AI interfaces like ChatGPT or Claude.

This integration allows eligible users to supply tokens to Kamino to seek yield or borrow USDC against existing collateral using natural language instructions. Rather than creating a new loan product, the update provides a conversational gateway to Kamino’s established markets. To manage risk, MoonPay offers control structures where users can require passkey approval for every transaction or set preset limits for the AI agent.

Despite the ease of use provided by the AI interface, the underlying risks of DeFi remain. Users are responsible for collateral management, as falling below required thresholds can trigger liquidations. The rollout expands PayBox’s capabilities beyond its initial July launch, which focused on payments, token swaps, bridging, and Aave-based yield.
