Moorea: Woman killed by falling tree branch in river

A woman in her 40s died in Moorea after being struck by a falling mango tree branch while swimming in a river in the Papetoai valley. The victim was in a small pool of water when the incident occurred.

Witnesses reported that the victim was conscious when emergency services arrived but passed away in the ambulance. The victim had been staying in a makeshift cabin near the river for several months and leaves behind three children.
