Moorundie ram achieves $100,000 in private sale
A Poll Merino ram from the Moorundie stud has achieved a record-breaking private sale of $100,000 at the Royal Adelaide Show. The ram, identified as Moorundie EL168, was purchased through a joint arrangement by three studs: Banavie, Marnoo, and Charinga, who will share a half share with Manunda stud.
Stud principals Geoff and Bernadette Davidson noted that the sale follows strong interest in the 16.9 micron ram. The animal is a grandson of Moorundie 62-001, which previously sold for $50,000 in 2023. The sale marks a return to the Adelaide Show format for the Davidsons, who had previously transitioned to selling rams on-farm.
