Moosburg and Freising launch heat‑pump bundle program to cut costs by up to 10%

The cities of Moosburg and Freising in Germany have partnered with the company ShiftUp to create a heat‑pump bundle initiative. The program, called the Wärmepumpen‑Bündelaktion, aims to lower purchase prices for residents by roughly ten percent through coordinated bulk procurement.

Participating households will receive standardized offers and support from the municipalities, which handle communication, press work and public outreach. ShiftUp will select qualified regional installers based on a set criteria catalogue, ensuring local trades are used and the municipality incurs no direct expenses. The scheme is part of the EU‑funded LIFE Street HP Reno project, which supports local energy‑renovation measures.

The city councils approved the participation unanimously, seeing the action as a way to make climate‑friendly heating technology more accessible and to strengthen regional economic activity.
