Moose spotted near closed ice cream stand in Saranac Lake
A moose was recently filmed wading in the water near the dock of Mountain Mist Custard in Saranac Lake. The sighting occurred after the ice cream stand had already closed for the season.
The event coincides with the beginning of the moose rut season in New York. According to the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, the breeding season typically occurs in late September and early October, a period when bulls may engage in sparring to compete for mates.
