MOPCO achieves IFA Product Steward Excellence certification

Misr Fertilizers Production Company (MOPCO) has achieved the International Fertilizer Association (IFA) Protect & Sustain certification at the Product Steward Excellence level. The company scored over 90% in its assessment, making it the first company among those evaluated to surpass this threshold.

The certification, issued by the Belgium branch of DNV Business Assurance B. V., evaluates various aspects of fertilizer production and distribution, including product stewardship, quality management, environmental performance, safety, and operational practices.

Saad Abu El-Maati, Secretary-General of the Arab Fertilizer Association, noted that this achievement demonstrates the capacity of Egyptian and Arab producers to meet rigorous international standards for quality and sustainability. The accreditation is expected to strengthen MOPCO’s international credentials and export positioning as global buyers increasingly prioritize traceability and independently verified environmental standards.
