Morag Smith appointed project manager for Living Lerwick

Morag Smith has been appointed as the new project manager for Living Lerwick, an organization dedicated to supporting the town centre and its local businesses. Smith, a Shetland-born entrepreneur, will deliver the role through her venture, Koko Events.

Smith brings a background in project and event management, fundraising, communications, and marketing, having previously worked with organizations such as Save the Children and Action Against Hunger. She also has experience supporting independent businesses through her involvement with Blyde Welcome.

Steve Mathieson, board chairman of Living Lerwick, stated that the board was impressed by Smith’s strategic thinking, creativity, and her ability to develop partnerships and secure new income. Smith expressed her commitment to ensuring the organization listens to and represents the character of Lerwick’s local businesses.
