Moral influence of children's films

Family films can serve as tools for character development by illustrating the consequences of good and evil. Beyond being merely clean, high-quality films can help children grow in virtue through storytelling.

Two notable international films are highlighted for their moral depth. “The Big Bad Fox and Other Tales,” a Belgian animated film, explores themes of stewardship and sacrifice as a fox learns to protect those weaker than himself. “Children of Heaven” is a subtitled film that depicts a brother and sister navigating poverty and sharing resources, illustrating themes of mercy and compassion within a family.
