Moravia thief arrested after series of wallet thefts

A 65-year-old man from the Zlín region has been apprehended following a series of thefts across Moravia. Between July and August, the repeat offender committed at least eight thefts, targeting wallets from handbags, offices, and government buildings, including a hospital in Brno and a municipal office in Vsetín.

In addition to stealing cash, the man used stolen payment cards to make small purchases and attempt larger transactions, including ATM withdrawals. While he successfully stole nearly 70,000 CZK, his attempts to withdraw or spend over 180,000 CZK were largely unsuccessful as transactions were declined. He faces up to five years in prison.
