Moravian-Silesian Region hosts Family Days events
The Moravian-Silesian Region held its annual Family Days across three locations: Slezské Rudoltice, Nový Jičín, and Ostrava. The series of events attracted several thousand visitors and focused on promoting the values of family, solidarity, and the importance of foster care and informal care for loved ones.
In Slezské Rudoltice, over 900 people visited the castle grounds for workshops and social service presentations. The second stop in Nový Jičín drew nearly 1,000 attendees, offering access to local exhibitions. The cycle concluded in Ostrava at Trojhalí Karolina, which hosted more than 2,000 people for a program featuring concerts, performances, and presentations from organizations supporting families.
A key highlight of the Ostrava event was a ceremony honoring exceptional foster parents. Deputy Governor for Social Affairs Stanislav Kopecký emphasized that the initiative aims to bring the topics of foster parenting and informal care closer to the public while recognizing those who provide homes for children in need.
