Moravian-Silesian Region launches digital payment portal for municipalities

The Moravian-Silesian Region has launched a new digital payment portal designed to simplify administrative tasks for citizens and municipalities. The service is available to municipalities with up to 15,000 inhabitants and their contributory organizations.

Through the portal, residents can pay various fees online, including waste management fees, dog licenses, cemetery rentals, and certain school-related payments. The system supports multiple payment methods, such as credit cards, QR codes, Google Pay, Apple Pay, and standard bank transfers. Security is managed via a payment gateway provided by Global Payments in collaboration with Česká spořitelna.

The region will provide full financing, operation, and technical support, meaning participating municipalities do not have to pay for the system's implementation or use. This initiative aims to assist smaller towns with the digitalization of public services and reduce the need for physical visits to municipal offices or the use of paper payment slips.
