Morbegno to host 119th Mostra del Bitto cheese festival

The 119th edition of the Mostra del Bitto is scheduled to take place in Morbegno on Saturday, October 17, and Sunday, October 18. The event celebrates the traditional Valtellina cheese and its production chain.

A significant change for this edition is the relocation of the 'casera'—the structure used to store the cheeses participating in the competition—from the ancient church to the Sant’Antonio square. The square, along with the ancient convent and auditorium, will serve as the central hub for the festivities.

The program includes a prize ceremony for breeders, producers, and cheesemakers on Sunday morning. Visitors can participate in tastings with new pairings, workshops for all ages, and demonstrations of ancient trades. The event will also feature folklore, music, and various performances.
