More Markets suffers $9.3M exploit on Flow EVM

The decentralized finance (DeFi) protocol More Markets has suffered an exploit on the Flow EVM network, resulting in the drainage of approximately 15.5 million Wrapped Flow (WFLOW) tokens. Security firm Blockaid estimates the value of the stolen assets at roughly $9.3 million.

According to Blockaid, the attacker utilized Ankr Staked FLOW (ankrFLOW), a liquid staking token, in conjunction with Aave V3’s “efficiency mode” (E-mode) to overborrow from the mFlowWFLOW lending reserve. E-mode is a feature designed to increase borrowing capacity for assets with correlated price movements.

This incident contributes to a significant month for cryptocurrency exploits. Total losses from hacks in August have reached $139.7 million, making it the third-largest month for stolen value in 2026, though this remains lower than the $254 million lost in July.
