Moreirense and SC Braga draw 2-2 in intense league derby

Moreirense and SC Braga played to a 2-2 draw in a competitive regional derby during the opening stages of the league season. SC Braga took an early lead in the 7th minute through Fran Navarro, following a long pass from Vítor Carvalho. Moreirense responded quickly with a goal from Nile John, who struck from outside the area.

Braga maintained much of the territorial dominance and extended their lead in the 67th minute via Pau Victor. However, Moreirense secured a late equalizer in stoppage time when João Veloso scored, capitalizing on a cross that Alexandre Parsemain failed to clear.

The result continues a trend for SC Braga, who have struggled in season openers, securing only one win in their last five league starts. The team now shifts focus to their upcoming Conference League qualifying match against Dinamo Minsk.
