Moreirense FC secures investment from American billionaire William P. Foley II

Moreirense FC, based in the small village of Moreira de Cónegos, Portugal, has officially confirmed a change in its shareholding structure. The British corporation Black Knight Football Club UK, led by American billionaire William P. Foley II, will invest 15.8 million euros to immediately acquire 62.6% of the club's Sports Public Limited Company (SAD). The agreement, approved by 94% of club members, aims to increase foreign control to 70% in future stages.

The investment includes 10 million euros dedicated to the expansion and modernization of the club's sports village. Under the leadership of president Vítor Magalhães, the club has set a priority goal to construct a new, modern stadium for 10,000 spectators by 2030. The new arena will be located near the current Estádio Comendador Joaquim de Almeida Freitas and will include 3,500 parking spaces.
