A 23-year-old man identified as Edgar René, known by the nickname ‘La Ranita’, was shot and killed inside an unfinished construction site in the Pablo Galeana neighborhood of Morelia, Michoacán.
The attack occurred on Correcaminos Street, near the border of the El Arquito neighborhood. Authorities reported that armed individuals arrived at the location and opened fire multiple times before fleeing on a motorcycle. Investigators recovered at least 45 spent 9mm shell casings at the scene.
The Michoacán State Attorney General's Office (FGE) has initiated an investigation to determine the motive behind the killing. Local police secured the area while forensic specialists collected evidence from the site.
