Morelia, Mexico cable car project reaches 70% construction progress

The cable car system for Morelia, Michoacán, is reported to be 70 percent complete. The next phase will install the north‑loop carrier cable that will link the Estadio, Pedregal, Primo Tapia and Monumento stations, with the line expected to open later this year.

State Secretary of Urban Development and Mobility María Elena Huerta said work will also begin on the electromechanical system at Station 6 (the zoo) and that only the system at Station 7 (Santa María) remains pending. To date, 33 of the 41 support poles have been erected and six bases are ready for metal mast installation. The project is intended to provide a modern, efficient and sustainable transport option for residents and improve urban mobility and connectivity.
