Morelia Planetarium completes installation of 360-degree projection screen
The installation of a new 360-degree projection screen at the Lic. Felipe Rivera Planetarium in Morelia, Michoacán, has been completed. This upgrade is a central part of a comprehensive technological modernization of the facility, as reported by the Secretariat of Urban Development and Mobility (Sedum).
The renovation marks a transition from legacy optical and mechanical technology, specifically the historic Mark IV Carl Zeiss projector, to a fully digital projection system. This shift allows for higher quality content and a more diverse educational and scientific offering. The new experience will feature immersive imagery of planets, galaxies, and nebulae, complemented by a surround sound system and reclining seats for enhanced visitor comfort.
