Morelia Police announce solidarity race to benefit local rescue services

The first 'Yo con Policía Morelia' solidarity athletic race has been announced for September 27, 2026, in Morelia, Michoacán. Organized by the Morelia Police to mark their 10th anniversary, the event aims to strengthen the bond between the police force and the community while raising funds for the Rescate Delegación Morelia.

All proceeds from registration fees will be donated to the rescue institution to support emergency services, equipment, and training. The race will take place in the Historic Center, starting and ending at the Morelia Cathedral. It features 5K and 10K competitive categories, as well as an inclusive 5K category for people with disabilities.

Registration is limited to 1,500 participants. The event includes a prize pool of 30,000 pesos, funded by private sponsorships, ensuring that the registration revenue can be directed entirely to the rescue services.
