Tacuati shooting attempt leaves two people injured

Two people were injured during an apparent assassination attempt in Tacuatí, Paraguay. The incident occurred around 11:00 PM on Sunday at the ‘El Villetano’ volleyball court in the Nuestra Señora de la Asunción neighborhood.

Witnesses reported that two men wearing helmets arrived on a motorcycle and opened fire without warning. The primary target, Hernán Bordón Blanco, was struck by three gunshots. A woman, Delia Carolina Benítez Giménez, was also injured after being accidentally hit by one of the projectiles.

Both victims were transported to the Hospital General de Santa Rosa del Aguaray for medical treatment. Following a background check, authorities discovered that Bordón Blanco had two outstanding arrest warrants for domestic violence and cattle theft, and he remains in police custody. Criminal investigation units and the Public Ministry are currently investigating the motive and working to identify the attackers.
