Morelos Congress prepares judicial reforms and municipal recognition

The Morelos State Congress is preparing for a heavy legislative agenda involving structural reforms and budgetary decisions. Key upcoming actions include the installation of the Board of Directors and the opening of a second extraordinary period.

As the ordinary session begins on September 1, the Morena caucus has identified the development of secondary laws for the Local Judicial Reform as an absolute priority to align with national frameworks. Additionally, lawmakers must address budget increase requests for electoral institutions, such as the Electoral Tribunal of the State of Morelos (TEEM), to ensure operational capacity for upcoming elections. The legislature is also awaiting a detailed breakdown of budget requests from Governor Margarita González Saravia’s administration to ensure transparency in public spending.
