Mexico stages Rover Marathon in Morelos and Historic Grand Prix in Mexico City

The state of Morelos announced the 71st edition of the Rover Marathon – Cuernavaca, set for 11 October. Officials highlighted the event’s role in promoting sport tourism and generating economic activity for local hotels, restaurants and services. Tourism secretary Daniel Altafi Valladares and IND‑EM director Juan Felipe Domínguez said the governor, Margarita González Saravia, backs the race as part of a broader strategy to strengthen regional development, with security coordinated by the National Guard and other agencies.

On 16 August, the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez will host the XIV Historic Grand Prix of Mexico City. More than 300 classic and sports cars are entered, and promoter Francisco Name described the race as a nostalgic celebration of automotive history. His son, driver Pancho Name, added that visitors will experience static displays, track runs and opportunities to ride selected vehicles, underscoring the event’s appeal to fans and collectors alike.
