Mexican universities celebrate anniversaries and mental health
Various Mexican universities are holding commemorative events and initiatives focused on institutional milestones and community welfare.
At the Universidad Autónoma de Tamaulipas (UAT), Rector Dámaso Anaya Alvarado presided over the 53rd anniversary of the SUTUAT union and the 69th anniversary of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Zootechnics. The latter celebrations included a 10-kilometer commemorative ride and a grill tournament to honor the faculty's history and connection to the livestock community.
In Morelos, Governor Margarita González Saravia participated in a ceremony honoring teaching staff at the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Morelos (UAEM) during the 50th anniversary of the SITAUAEM union. The Governor discussed collaborative projects such as the University Security Plan and student support programs.
Focusing on student welfare, the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México (UAEMéx) and the Universidad Latina de América (UNLA) have implemented programs to address mental health. UAEMéx emphasized socio-emotional well-being as a core component of academic development, while UNLA hosted a “Mental Health Week” featuring workshops on stress management, digital well-being, and emotional regulation.
