Morelos Governor launches peace initiative and expands housing program in Cuautla

Governor Margarita González Saravia of Morelos announced the start of an integrated peace strategy for the municipality of Cuautla. The plan, presented at the Feria de Paz, brings together federal, state and municipal forces and offers more than 70 free services, including health, legal aid, education and employment assistance, to strengthen community ties and reduce crime.

In the same ceremony the governor confirmed a partnership with the federal government to increase the target of the Programa de Vivienda para el Bienestar from 10,000 to 24,000 homes in the state. The Infonavit will build 13,000 new houses in Morelos, backed by an investment of about 8.15 billion pesos, and a portion of the donated land will host sports and recreation facilities for local youth.

Both initiatives aim to improve security, provide dignified housing and promote social development for families in Cuautla and the wider region of Morelos.
