Morelos strengthens banking crime prevention through new security agreements

The government of Morelos has signed two strategic collaboration agreements to strengthen the prevention of banking crimes and improve institutional responses to financial theft. The agreements involve Seguridad y Protección Bancaria (Seproban), the Secretaría de Seguridad y Protección Ciudadana (SSPC), and the Fiscalía General del Estado.

Led by Governor Margarita González Saravia, the initiative establishes mechanisms for information exchange, early warning systems, and operational coordination. The plan also includes continuous training for police officers and the implementation of preventive awareness campaigns aimed at protecting bank users, particularly vulnerable populations.

During the event, the Asociación de Bancos de México, through Seproban, recognized the State Coordination Table for its results in recent operations. These efforts included the detention of individuals linked to bank robberies in Morelos and other parts of the country, including a specific operation following an assault on a branch in Cuautla.
