Morena accuses PRI of vote‑buying scheme in Coahuila and Durango

Morena’s national leader, Ariadna Montiel Reyes, said the party uncovered a vote‑buying operation allegedly run by the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) in the states of Coahuila and Durango. She presented photographs, videos and testimonies claiming voters received cash, electronic transfers or deposits in convenience stores after scanning QR‑coded vouchers that proved how they voted. Montiel stated, “We are facing an organized structure that seeks to undermine popular will through economic incentives and technological control of the vote,” and announced that Morena will pursue legal action through the courts.

Following PRI’s electoral win in Coahuila, deputy Rubén Moreira called on opposition parties to form a broad coalition to halt Morena’s advance, saying, “All of us have spoken about the opportunity for Mexico to have a united opposition… to stop Morena and the destruction of the country.” Moreira urged collaboration with the PAN for the 2027 elections, stressing the need for a strategic alliance against the ruling party.
