Morena bans members using old‑regime tactics and says public assemblies are not campaign events

Citlalli Hernández Mora, head of Morena’s National Election Commission, warned that any party member who resorts to “traps” or old‑regime practices in the internal selection process will be excluded from the movement. She emphasized that Morena remains open and plural but will not tolerate conduct that breaches its statutes, noting that the commission continuously reviews complaints against militants.

The party also defended its nationwide public assemblies and informational tours, stating they do not constitute pre‑campaign or campaign activities because they contain no explicit calls for voting. Hernández said the gatherings are meant to inform citizens and demonstrate territorial presence, and that oversight of any irregularities rests with state electoral bodies and the National Electoral Institute (INE).
