Morena candidates lead internal polls for governorships in Tlaxcala and Sonora

Senator Ana Lilia Rivera, currently on leave, tops the internal poll for the Morena‑PT‑PVEM coalition's candidate for Tlaxcala governor with 31.4% of the preferences, a 12.8‑point lead over runner‑up Alfonso Sánchez García. The coalition as a whole holds 42.4% of voter intention in the state, outranking the PAN (14.9%), PRI (13.3%) and Movimiento Ciudadano (10.3%). The Massive Caller survey was conducted on 28 July 2026 with a margin of error of ±3.4% and a sample of 1,000 respondents.

In Sonora, Célida López Cárdenas leads the Morena internal contest for the governorship, registering 16% raw preference and 24% effective preference in the Enkoll poll. She is ahead of Javier Lamarque (14%). López also enjoys the highest public recognition, with 49% of respondents saying they know her, and scores 8.5 out of 10 on the composite strength index, far above her competitors.
