Morena candidates rally in Mexico to defend sovereignty and social welfare

Verónica Díaz, a candidate for the state coordination of the Defense of the Transformation, addressed supporters in Nochistlán, Zacatecas, urging the preservation of national sovereignty and the continuation of federal Bienestar programs. She cited the reach of the social assistance schemes, including pensions for seniors, women, people with disabilities and school supplies for thousands of students.

In Zitácuaro, Michoacán, Gladyz Butanda Macías, also running for the same coordination role, called for the same defense of sovereignty and highlighted the government's peace and justice plan. She met with representatives of 24 local football teams to promote better sports facilities as a means of preventing crime and addiction, stressing the need for quality public spaces across urban and rural areas.

Both candidates echoed President Claudia Sheinbaum’s message of a "Fourth Transformation" and framed their outreach as a nationwide effort to safeguard recent social gains and promote civic participation.
