Morena candidates tour Sonora and Michoacán to gather local support for state defense committees

María Dolores del Río, a former Hermosillo mayor and ex‑secretary of public security, visited Cananea in Sonora to meet retired miners, widows and the municipal mayor. She listened to concerns about deteriorating roads, health services and job scarcity, saying she will relay these issues to Governor Alfonso Durazo and other committee hopefuls.

Gladyz Butanda Macías, a former secretary of urban development, held a meeting with business leaders in Michoacán. She presented a plan to incorporate local producers’ needs into an inclusive economic proposal, aiming to strengthen investment, infrastructure and gender equity in the state. Both candidates are seeking the coordination of the Morena “Defense of the Transformation and National Sovereignty” committees ahead of the party’s internal selection process.
