Morena deputies call for unity in Michoacán after leadership appointment

Morena legislators in Michoacán are calling for internal unity following the appointment of Carlos Torres Piña as the state coordinator for the Defense of the Transformation and National Sovereignty.

Deputy Anabet Franco Carrizales urged party members to respect established mechanisms and engage in dialogue to strengthen the ‘Fourth Transformation’ project. She emphasized the importance of prioritizing the political project over individual aspirations, echoing sentiments from President Claudia Sheinbaum.

In a similar vein, Deputy Fabiola Alanís Sámano, a former candidate for the same coordination role, described the current tensions as a normal part of the democratic process. While acknowledging differences and questioning certain aspects of the selection process, Alanís called for ‘political skill and generosity’ to ensure the party remains cohesive ahead of the 2027 elections.
