Morena clashes with officials and media over attacks on Governor Maru Campos and defamation of López Obrador

PAN legislator Alfredo Chávez said Morena is attacking Chihuahua governor Maru Campos to distract from internal party issues and alleged links to organized crime. He described the assaults as part of a disinformation campaign aimed at shifting public focus.

Separately, the Morena party has demanded a public apology from the newspaper El Universal after it published a false interview linking former president Andrés Manuel López Obrador to a fabricated story. Morena alleges the piece was a deliberate act of defamation intended to damage López Obrador’s reputation.
