Morena holds National Council session to organize for 2027 elections

During its VIII Ordinary Session of the National Council held at the World Trade Center in Mexico City, the Morena party formalized the appointment of 17 state coordinators for the Defense of the Transformation and National Sovereignty. These coordinators are positioned to lead efforts toward the 2027 elections.

Party leaders Ariadna Montiel Reyes and Alfonso Durazo Montaño emphasized the need for internal unity and territorial presence. Durazo addressed internal tensions, warning against candidates who prioritize personal interests or use paid advertising to inflate survey results rather than working in communities. The party also discussed maintaining alliances with the PVEM and PT, noting that while tensions exist, dialogue remains the priority.

Additionally, Ariadna Montiel announced that former President Andrés Manuel López Obrador has authorized the party to use his image and words for political and electoral purposes. The session also highlighted strategic alliances, such as with the PVEM in Querétaro, Campeche, and Colima, as the party prepares for upcoming electoral cycles.
