Morena opens registration for municipal coordinators in 30 states
The National Executive Committee of Morena has officially launched a call for registration for Municipal Coordinations of the Committees for the Defense of Transformation and National Sovereignty. This internal process, which spans 30 Mexican states, aims to strengthen the party's territorial organization ahead of the 2027 elections.
Registration is conducted exclusively online from October 8 to October 18. The selection process for coordinators will involve evaluating candidate backgrounds and may utilize citizen surveys or opinion studies to determine the final profiles.
Regarding official positions, the rules allow mayors, trustees, councilors, and federal or local deputies to participate without resigning from their current offices. However, other public officials at the federal, state, or municipal levels, as well as members of the Judiciary, are required to request a leave of absence or resign to participate. The party has also prohibited the use of public resources, social programs, or billboards during the process.
