Morena parliamentary groups schedule plenary meetings
The Morena parliamentary group has scheduled plenary meetings in Mexico, highlighting internal leadership discussions and legal debates regarding its members.
In the Senate, Senator Enrique Inzunza has been summoned to a plenary meeting on August 30 at the Insurgentes and Reforma headquarters. The meeting will include the election of the Board of Directors' presidency and the attendance of various State Secretaries. Senator Higinio Martínez commented on Inzunza’s situation, noting that while Inzunza views his position through a legal lens, a political approach might involve requesting a leave of absence to defend one's innocence.
In Mexico City, the Morena parliamentary group is also preparing for a plenary meeting scheduled for August 26. This meeting may take place without a formal party president for the capital, as the position has been vacant since Héctor Díaz Polanco’s resignation on July 19. Paulo García is considered a likely candidate to assume the role.
